Pros
-Willing to hire new grads with no experience at all -Exposure to all stages in SDLC regardless of your positions
Cons
-Lack of internal communications: agreements reached in senior management meeting are never properly communicated to the line staff. Cross-departmental communication is awful even though the company uses Agile method. Release timelines are also never clearly articulated and publicly posted until enough people have asked. -No respect or appreciation or R & D staff. Company often requires R & D supports when Professional Services runs low on resources, but their efforts are ignored when celebrating project success -Lack of training for Professional Services consultants. Many are not even aware of core product's behaviour, and hence often end up giving wrong estimates to customers. Timelines are always missed, and the line staff have to work very long hours (weekend works, all-nighters) to save the company's grace -Mediocre pay and bonuses. When the company makes an offer, they tell you although the base is lower than industry average, you can expect a high bonus during performance evaluation. Reality is, , many people don't even get bonuses and raises. -Lack of career progression in the company. An internal transferal policy was implemented last summer. Almost a year has past and no one has successfully transferred to a different department under the policy.
