Pros

The people who work at a team level and at certain managerial levels are amazing. The culture BEFORE the acquisition was admirable.

Cons

Previous CEO cashed out and sold the soul of the company when they did. Now this place is a beaucratic nightmare, insistent on the bottom line and not people driven. Many folks will be doing the bare minimum to get by until the job market recovers at which time they will leave. Nexient as a company is a dead one. NTT Data/Launch is all about the dollars and cents, not about the people earning the respect of their clients through hard work and sarcifice.

Pros

Opportunity to work with household-name clients

Cons

I had 4 managers in 10 months Leadership on a $20m project left and there were no plans to backfill, and periods of time where there was no one senior on the project Reneg on a promotion Culture of fear -- after sharing feedback that 6 people had told me they were afraid they would lose their job, management indicated that they should Difficult to determine what "culture" is or what benefit there is to being an employee versus a contractor Despite having led the largest client in the company's history, no executive leadership was able to take the time to run an exit interview.

Pros

They'll hire literally anyone so it's a good way to get your foot into the door.

Cons

Pay is awful, significantly lower than comparable jobs in the area. Nexient will hire anyone with a pulse, not train them, and then act surprised when their employees aren't performing to clients needs. Upper management is completely disconnected from reality and don't have a clue what their devs need or what their clients want and expect: I can recall multiple situations where management flat-out lied to the client I worked for. If management promises something but it's not in writing, it's not going to happen.

Nexient Response

Thank you for posting your feedback. I'm sorry that you didn't have a good experience at Nexient. There are a number of things you mention that don't align with what I see on a regular basis: - We invest a tremendous amount of energy in both screening applicants and then training once people start. Some of the things we have standing training on include adult-to-adult conversations, defensive coding to avoid OWASP top ten vulnerabilities, and four week boot camps for entry level employees. - I work with the management team on a daily basis and find them to be quite engaged in each of the projects they are working on. We purposely select leaders with deep experience in hands on design and development so they can engage at the right level. I would like to understand in more detail what you saw during your time at Nexient. If you are comfortable sharing more information with me, I can use that to find ways to improve. Please reach out to me directly to set up some time to talk. Thanks, Mark
