Pros

Nexient will offer employment to those just getting into the industry. They will promote a lot of self-reflection(Do I really want to work in this industry?). Nexient will prevent you from spending lavishly, as you will not make much money. If you stay under the radar you can work here for a year, have a decent line on your resume & go get a real job.

Cons

Do not respect a 40 hour work week, health benefits are not good, no retirement contribution, annual salary review was opportunity for HR & upper management(whom I never met) to disparage all of the 60+hour weeks that went into propping up understaffed, poorly managed projects.

Pros

Free Pop and Popcorn., Able to play ping pong and video games on a wii at work.to

Cons

I worked there almost a year. No matter what your skill set, They are going to put you wherever they want. It is an agile shop. Which they live breathe and eat. This means that the projects are bidded on with a skeleton staff in mind. Meaning, you can play on working overtime. My first project really had no chance, but because we were a talented group we did get it done (BARELY). We were promised a bonus in the one meeting, before working all the extra hours. (100 hours of overtime) Yeah we got our bonus, it was going out to dinner. Not exactly what we expected. They have a bunch of young coders. A few experienced and good ones. They have allot of turnover at the company. Not many people have been there longer than 2 yrs. I would not reccommened working here. One of the head hunters I was working with before taking this job, told me in advance what to expect going to work for Nexient (AKA Systems In Motion). He was 100% accurate.

Pros

Two game rooms and please do your favor and don't apply here.

Cons

- Poor Benefits and no 401k match - Politics, politics and politics - Incompetent middle, senior and executive management. They spend a lot of money hiring useless executives from gambling cities and they have no clue what they're talking about. Full of nonsense. - No work/life balance, you're expected to come to work, even if you're sick as a dog. Military Environment! - No career growth and reviewers below are lying. Only few people out of couple hundred people got promotions be - Management bribes people to post reviews - Company's business model is like an Indian call centers, don't expect much - Compensation is low, they pay Jr. $40-50k, mid. $53-65k, not enough to live in Ann Arbor - Clients expects to get things done today and management expects to get things done now - HR is big time trouble at this place.
