Web Dev - Nice Nexidia - It's a fine job but wouldn't want it to be a career
Pros
- Company recognizes some of its developmental downsides and offers compensation to make up for this. - Management doesn't always have power to fight for but will do what they can for you if you do a good job - There is newer and more exciting work coming. - There's a large number of prizes / gifts / competitions (non-monetary compensation). Though this is sometimes a con b/c it can feel like a slap in the face when many employees just want something like 401k matching or better monetary compensation instead of toys.
Cons
- Reactionary development environment causes stress due to needing to manage fires. - Paths to promotion / furthered careers only seem to decrease the work / life balance. - A decent portion of the code is legacy. - Improvement of systems is difficult due to burnout - Mostly seems to operate as a sales driven company and doesn't focus on tech first. - No 401k matching
