Pros

Pay, benefits, subsidies for Columbus downtown parking

Cons

There is a brand new executive leadership team that is misaligned and gives conflicting direction. No one knows who has decision making authority and decisions keep getting changed. Furthermore, those who have been at the company at the leadership level have been demoted and are leaving at an alarming rate. I am a manager and am supposed to be hiring for an open role. It’s hard because I feel like I am trying to convince them its a great company to work at when in reality my advice would for them to find a more stable environment.

So Disappointing

Pros

Good salary and bonus opportunities. Good 401(k). Stability relative to other industries. Satisfaction of working to keep people warm, keep the lights on and supporting local economies.

Cons

Toxic work environment. Extremely political in their hiring and promotion practices. Lack of focus on employee development - especially in Corporate Services segment. Executive leadership team micromanages everything. They don’t trust anyone, including their own Senior Leadership Team. They are either tone deaf or willfully ignorant about the employee experience. There’s a surprising lack of stability for such a well-established, highly regulated, monopolistic industry. Constant shifting focus. Nothing to rally around. Terrible internal communications dynamic.

Pros

Insurance,401k, and job security, decent pay

Cons

The list is endless there is so much wrong it's amazing anything gets done. There are so many people that have jobs that push all their job responsibilities onto other people or have no idea how to do their jobs they can't effectively do their own. Management thinks everyone wants to work endless overtime due to poor scheduling and lack of maintenance for the last 50 years. Management expects you to be available 24/7 without paying for it. There was a recent overtime policy rolled out but you have to fight for it to be paid.
