Pros

I met some of my best friends there. The hours are pretty reasonable and steady.

Cons

Corporate refused to update our office, so everything was falling apart, it was so sales heavy, they would sign anyone, whether they had talent and could make it in the industry or not. Corporate would always threaten to "down-size" if goals weren't met.

Hello and thanks for the review. It sounds like there is more we could have done during your time here to have made sure you properly understood our companies values. As you likely know, our company has been open for over 15 years. Since our company was founded we've always been forthright and honest with our clientele and talent. We're aware that many individuals including yourself believe that agencies are the only way for talent to find work in this industry and that Nine9 is unique because we aren't an agency. Unfortunately, there is a common misconception that Nine9 is a scam but this is simply untrue. As for 'hiring unaware children' our policy is and always has been that a parent or guardian must be involved in every conversation and every meeting with our company involving a minor. Yes, we do work with children as young as 3 years of age but only would be able to enroll any child as a talent with the consent of their parent or guardian. It's unfortunate that our company wasn't a good match for you but we do hope you've found success in your new career path. Please feel free to email me at jeremy.smith@nine9.com at any time should something come to mind that wasn't expressed in your review. We always strive to be the best employer possible so additional feedback is always welcome.

It's An Experience

Pros

I was the receptionist at Nine9 for a few months. Being in the entertainment industry was really fun and exciting for me. All the new people coming in the door were really excited about the industry and made for a great environment.

Cons

Lots of unnecessary stress. It's all about numbers and not necessarily about helping the talents. The receptionist is the easily blame for lots of issues that the talents specialist, talent coordinator or OD should hold responsibility. Don't really get much help from higher management and that makes everything seem like a scam with them being so distant and non-talkative.

Hello and happy Tuesday to you. We'd like to say thanks for sharing your thoughts about Nine9. Our hope is to keep improving our company and make sure that who we are and what we do is very clear. It's awesome to hear that you liked working with the great people here and felt the environment was great too. Certainly hearing that you felt you were blamed for something tells us there must have been some issues we're sorry that we overlooked at the time of your review. What I can tell you is that our Office Directors and their staff from all of our offices meet weekly with our COO to discuss how things are going and any issues that need to be corrected so we can do better. The rest of our staff is coming together weekly in the interest of transparency and we're accepting suggestions from all employees to make Nine9 better. It's been an excellent and informative experience for everyone involved. Again, thanks for the feedback and should you have additional thoughts please share them with me so I can share them with our leaders. I am available at jeremy.smith@nine9.com. We hope you're doing well and wish you only the very best!
