Pros

Working with the NEI team has already changed the way I view education and what schools can look like. I have felt incredibly supported and inspired by the team’s vision and commitment to students. The teacher training has been practical, intentional, and truly focused on helping teachers succeed. The leadership team is also amazing. The CEO and principal are highly involved, regularly participating in PLCs, visiting classrooms, and always checking to make sure teachers have what they need. I also love the opportunities for growth within the organization and the strong investment in both teachers and students. On top of that, the technology access is incredible, with iPads for students and new MacBook Airs for staff. It’s clear this school is rethinking education in a meaningful and innovative way, and I’m so excited to be part of it.

Cons

Because the school uses a community model rather than a traditional classroom structure, it can take time to adjust to the different approach. Teachers work closely together as a team, and students rotate between classrooms throughout the day, which requires strong collaboration and flexibility. The expectations are high, but the support from leadership and coworkers makes it a rewarding environment to grow in.

Pros

NEI has been a wonderful place to work and a place that provides opportunities for advancement. I came to NEI with five years of leadership experience and within three months, I was promoted to a leadership position. This organization truly sees the worth of all educators and all students. What brightens my heart the most is the intentionality to provide a world class education to all students. This was something I looked for after leaving a previous organization and I watched to ensure the world class education was true. To my shock, it was and it still is! The unique K-12 concept allows for educators to see the benefits of cross-curricular gains. Additionally, the community model allows for students to interact with one another in a non traditional learning environment with flexible seating to stimulate learning.

Cons

Work hours are longer than surrounding schools
