Pros

The culture is relaxed and very friendly. Everyone is willing to take time out to help. There's always a new interesting problem that you can take on. You're encouraged to move about the teams and find things that you think need solving.

Cons

Since there is so much freedom, getting consensus on technical issues can be a challenge depending on the team or sub-team. There is a lot of focus on satisfying users goals and perhaps not enough drive to solve technical dept issues. Since everyone will be so friendly, it may be hard for you to voice your disagreement with a group unless you have an outgoing personality. When you do, though, everyone remains friendly and receptive.

Thanks for taking the time to share this. I agree -- we have a great group of people who work on solving technology problems who have built an amazing culture. I wholeheartedly agree on balancing feature development with platform stability. Over the last 14 months we have focused on that effort and we have made great progress. We appreciate your feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed your time at Trunk Club!

Pros

Decent pay, I started at $13.50 + commission (HR low balled me initially) then I worked hard and requested to move up to $16.50 + plus commission by the end of my 5 years.

Cons

Commission base. No salary. No sick days. No work life balance, the schedule is anywhere from 9:15am to 5:30 or 11-7, 12-8, 2-9:30 (really 10pm) because the store / manger did not close the store on time. Your schedule changes every week. You work every weekend. You stand all day long. Not enough special company events to make you feel appreciated and when they do have one or a company meeting about once a year, it's very cheap catering. No gifts / bonus's of appreciation.

Pros

Benefits, good customers, nice mall.

Cons

Condescending, favorite-playing, ageist, dismissive management. Frequent changes without notification, just a reprimand. There is a lot of movement within the company, but jobs are sometimes already filled the day they’re posted. Time off and rewards are extended to favorites. Raises do not reward eccellent performance nor reflect cost of living. Chronically dusty environment.
