Pros

Nordstrom offers competitive pay, promotes from within, and provides an excellent benefits package to their full-time employees. It provides an excellent sales environment.

Cons

There is little upward mobility into positions of upper management at the Nordstrom Anchorage store unless you are willing to move (temporarily or permanently) to another Nordstrom location to gain more experience.

Pros

It's one of the the top companies to work for even if you don't have any previous work experience in retail.

Cons

Because it commission based sales pay, its very competitive. If you have shark like coworkers, you wont have a choice but to become a shark yourself to earn some money.

Pros

Great corporate culture and company overall. The department manager was highly knowledgeable of the product and always willing to help the sales associates in need. Strong emphasis on praise and recognition of job well done.

Cons

The relationships among employees and managers are comparable to petty high schoolers. There is often a lot of gossiping in and out of the work place.
