Pros
Nordstrom really is what it portrays itself to be; a reputable, respected, leader in the fashion world. Benefits, 401K, profit sharing, flexible spending accounts, etc. were all great. Expectations are clear, training is ongoing, and the open communication is unrivaled. Each employee is truly given the freedom to use their own judgement in most situations.
Cons
The only downside is that, ultimately, numbers are what really matter so you will inevitably have to deal with a coworker or two who is obnoxious, lazy and/or not a team player that is retained by Nordstrom seemingly only because they sell a lot of merchandise. Also, there have been ongoing and increasing complaints of no job security. I saw several examples of this while there.
