Don't Work here

Pros

There are none past the basic benefits package and free parking

Cons

Nepotism, unfair hiring practices, HR doesn't know what they are doing, and refuses to follow their own or federally regulated policies. If you are being harassed by another employee, do not expect them to do anything about it. Do not work here, you will regret it.

Pros

Good professional development since you get to work with all types of people from different career fields. Get to learn a lot about the railroad industry if you're into that Big corporation on your resume Decent W/L balance bc it's only 8-5, but the role is very draining for the average new grad Great employee network groups

Cons

Pension plan that takes so much out of your check, but you have to stay for at least 5 years to be vested. If you somehow get laid off or leave at the 4 year mark then you just lost a lot of your hard earned salary that just gets pooled in to support other employees' retirement pension Very antiquated systems that give you little to no transferrable skills, and creates a big headache while doing your work You will find that management often gossips a lot and speaks to you in a very belittling way to hide the fact they don't know what they are talking about because employees are often promoted based off like-ability as opposed to true merit. The role doesn't truly require a college degree, so you will feel foolish at times because you're just doing busy work and collections type assignments despite going to university for something entirely different such as Accounting, Finance, or Econ. Not a true "analyst" role. You are just a customer service person for railroad billing Training is not thorough or all that helpful, despite it taking an entire month. No funding at all for work outings
