You never have to hear about profit margins, quarterly reports, stock price, etc. Good job stability.

Cons

You have to pay to park on campus. You must pay to use the gym. You will likely only get a raise if the state budget says so and these can be few and far between. If you were making $50,000 in 2009, legislative increases would amount to just a $53,000 salary in 2021.

A great university until it became “woke”

Used to be a great university with great leadership, faculty, staff and students.

Cons

University leaders and deans are obsessed with race. We receive multiple emails per day reminding everyone of “white privilege” (which is not a thing). Each time a news event occurs it is politicized by the Chancellor and Deans (George Floyd trial was inappropriately noted as a racial crime, despite no evidence of such, and leaders took the position of celebrating a guilty verdict for the officer involved). The university actually has a policy that prohibits employees from engaging in political activities while at work (it’s a fireable offense), yet the institution’s leaders literally do it everyday. Extremely left-winged leadership has ruined the university for the reasonable people that work there.
