Pros

Good healthcare benefits Current 2026 benefits are through UHC which is a crap insurance company but they cover a lot based on plan Union based SEIU 113 Union based environment, so seniority is huge roll in time off, breaks and days in the office. (This is a pro and a con) Pays well Pay us based on experience. More experience=more pay. Work from home After 90 days you get to work from home but have a mandatory day during the week you have to go in. (You do not get to pick the day it's based on need and seniority)

Cons

Audits/stats You have daily stats you need to meet as well as monthly and weekly ones. 95% overally quality needs to be met, which doesn't sound bad but is considering the training is lacking. Sink or swim The supervisors in this role have a very cutthroat mentality, "you get it or you don't" and lack support. They state they're there for you when needed but it's false. Collections This is part of the job but can be mentally challenging. You will have to call on accounts for deceased children that the parents have to pay for or call to collect on people who are homeless. Easy to get a warning With the high standards of stats/audits it's very easy to get a warning. I have had a warning and so have a lot of my co-workers. When you get a warning you have to come into the office for 30 days until your stats improve. Again this is for the 95% goal which is honestly insane. They also keep increasing the expectations quarterly. Cannot use PTO right away After 90days your sick time kicks in. After 6months then you get to use your PTO. So it definitely feels like your working for nothing for a while. It's also seniority based on time off with only 3-4 allowed off a day so holidays are the worst for this. Management Upper management lacks empathy. The two supervisors we have are very empathetic when it comes to real life situations but their boss is extremely unempathetic/doesn't do anything nor does she care.

Pros

For my first job in Healthcare, it was great. I had good coworkers and managers.

Cons

It was stressful in the Emergency Department but that's just how it is.
