Pros

*The People: a family mentality for most teams! Everyone looks out for each other. *If you make a mistake, you are given the opportunity to learn from them. *A positive work environment 99% of the time (nowhere is perfect ;) ) *Growth potential and opportunities abound

Cons

*Opportunities, not Cons, for North American Bancard *Eliminate Silos (It appears they are starting to work on this); however, Silos do not just mean departmental, they also mean getting away from forming cliques or groups. *Constant changes may be good for growth potential and opportunities; however, it can also have a negative impact on those who want to focus or hone their careers in a specific area before moving on to the next thing. *Balance between career and personal life - at times, it can appear easier for people who are single or who are already "in" with the cliques/groups of people who have been here for years to build a career on a personal level because they have the time to "hangout" after hours. If you have a family or you have other commitments, you may not have the time to always hang out and thus you are left behind in connecting with people.

Bad culture/No room for growth

Pros

They offer decent pay, schedule flexibility and decent benefits

Cons

They require Speed of Trust training which NO ONE in the company uses. I've heard the COO talk about moving up within the company but the Talent Acquisition team will block you if you apply for a position that you don't "qualify" for. Then they hire someone from the outside who will take months to train then they end up leaving because they either hate it here or find a better job somewhere else.

Thank you for taking the time to share your review. I am the Director of Talent Acquisition. As it relates to internal growth within the company, my team of recruiters will not "block" anyone from applying and interviewing for another position. We do have an obligation to the business and from a legal perspective to ensure that ALL candidates whether internal or external, meet the minimum qualifications of the position. We will often take the extra step to meet with our internal applicants to offer assistance, tools and resources to help them advance if they don't meet the particular qualifications for the position of interest at that time. I would encourage you to meet with me and/or your HR Business Partner to talk about career pathing. Our leaders and Human Resources are focusing on development resources for all employees, which will include career pathing. Not all positions will be a match for an internal applicant and we want to make sure that we set up our employees for success. Here is my contact information: PLEASE schedule some time with me. I'd like to help, but can't do so if I don't know who you are. Christine Blauvelt, 2nd Floor, Troy office, 248.269.6000, Ext. 1754

Run, do not walk as fast as you can away from this place.

Pros

There are a few people that work here that genuinely care. The HR staff is generally really easy to work with and helpful. The pay is generally at or above industry standard.

Cons

There is zero planning short term or long term throughout the entire organization. Today's first priority is in the trash tomorrow never to be thought of again. Nothing gets finished or funded, but it is hot and critical today. It is mind numbing and frustrating to work with almost the entire leadership team. Everyone has failed up, and no one knows how to truly run their departments or plan. If you asked anyone what is the top priority tomorrow, next week, next month, next year? No one could give you an honest answer. Everyone is out to stab everyone else in the back, and this goes all the way up. If someone could benefit from throwing you under the bus, they will. Make no mistake, trust NO ONE. The benefits, PTO, and holidays are pitifully low compared to other companies in the area. This is simply NOT a good place to work.
