Pros

Constant and direct access to my leadership - Supervisor, Director and VP. Everyone is helping everyone. I get help from teammates that have been here a long time. I get help constantly from my Supervisor. We share ideas and bounce strategies off of each other.

Cons

Need more tools to go after leads and need a better lead source.

Pros

404 error, pros of working at North not found. It's remote, so I guess there's that. The marketing team does a great job at weeding out negative employee reviews and incentivizing positive ones.

Cons

Laughably bad. The sales department runs more like a cheap MLM than the strategic sales arm of a large org like Bancard. They mass hire and mass fire if you can't meet their absurd quota within your first month (almost like they don't wanna actually pay benefits... hmm~). You will be given zero resources, coaching, or tech tools to help along the way. These guys are literally out here just googling phone numbers and hoping for the best. You're advised to sell payment processors to your friends, family, neighbors or take business cards around and go knock on doors. It's so unserious. They'd very much like you to tap into your own network (lol, not a chance on that base pay) so it's more like North is getting the advantage of mining targets from the people they hire, not the other way around. There's no advantage to working here and you'd be better off hitting up a platform like GlenCoco that at least knows how to write a pitch deck (and you'll make more money, less pressure, less micromanagement). The interview is super nontransparent and they outright lied in some places, so I'll offer an honest take on what you can expect: "We don't micromanage" -- HA. This is micro managed like an old school sales floor with people calling out numbers. They will tell you off like you're a child if you spend more than two minutes trying to socialize with your new teammates on the group chat. So off-putting and unwelcoming. You're also blocked from accessing anything on your work laptop which is somewhat understandable at a financial org with tight security. But it's to the point where you can barely do your job and just reeks of distrust. For instance, can't access LinkedIn for sales, can't access AI outside of Gemini to help make your own pitch decks and collateral (because you know they don't have any), can't even pull photos for their employee intro thing. Um, no. Just no. "We're supportive" -- They get super cagey and defensive when asked questions. Such a weird environment to walk into. You can feel the tension and resentment of management towards their teams on every call. "We're inclusive" -- I hope you like sports metaphors and a hyper masculine sales bro environment. The nonstop chats to call out "wins" or whatever (no one ever explained it to me, so I just muted ya'all) is a NIGHTMARE for neurodivergent folks just trying to focus. Ironic that you're so uppity about staff having watercooler chats when your nonstop chatter is horrendous to see scrolling across the screen. Also wanted to add that while there's a high degree of micro management where it's not needed, if you're making the company money, you can say any wild, inappropriate ish you want and get away with it. LOTS of talk that doesn't belong at work and no one calls it out. Icky. "We've got great tech." -- My guys, you don't even have MS Office........ "We're flexible." -- As long as you clock in at 9, tell them your every move, and hit those cold calls... There's no strategic thought to sales and therefore no flex towards other working styles. Spray and pray approach. Unfortunately, with this job market, I'm sure they'll have enough desperate new hires to keep going like this. "We're sales pros." -- If you mention very basic industry tech/standards, they look at you in utter confusion. They're a call center. It's a numbers/volume game and if you can handle that, give it a shot. But if not, pass on this one. As a side note, they've fired two people in month 1 since I started and I haven't even hit my one month milestone yet. :| So definitely proceed with caution if hired and have a solid backup plan. Don't treat it as permanent and don't invest too much. They won't invest back into you.

Thank you for taking the time to provide such detailed and direct feedback regarding your experience at North. We take reviews like this very seriously, especially given our focus on creating a supportive and professional environment. Addressing Strategy and Resources: We are deeply concerned by your comments regarding our sales approach, lack of resources, and low-quality leads. Your observation about the need for modern sales strategy is being taken seriously. We are always reviewing our training, resources, and lead generation to ensure our team is equipped with current technology (although we are a Google shop at North which is why we don't have MS Office) and a strategic, supportive sales framework—not just a volume-based approach. Culture and Management Concerns: The issues you raised about micromanagement, non-transparent hiring, and a hyper-masculine culture are the opposite of the sales environment we aim for. We are committed to inclusion and professionalism. We aim to ensure every team member feels respected and trusted. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts and feelings here on Glassdoor. As always I encourage our team members to reach out to me directly if you wish to discuss further or in more detail, my door is open.
