Pros

If you can last long enough to qualify for it, their top tier time off is very nice. They do provide a lot of benefits.

Cons

Very aggressive and insulting CEO who insists on micromanaging software development. I have never been screamed at more in any other company I have worked for. Most of the employees now are treated like tools and are easily cast aside. The benefits they have are only so they can claim they have them. They have health care, and did before it was required, but it was never stellar. They have 401k match, but it is capped exceptionally low with a very low match rate. Most of the employees in the company would never hit the cap, but that is because most of them are so poorly paid even if they could afford the 4% personal contribution to hit the employer percentage cap they don't make enough in a year to hit the flat dollar amount cap. The employees that earn enough to hit the cap would find the flat dollar cap insulting. They have largely replaced most of the executive management team and they appear to be heading towards an international outsource mentality, so I would not be surprised to see significant cuts in the workforce.

Don't even think about it.

Pros

Absolutely none. Low pay, poor benefits, bad working environment, inept management, unrealistic deadlines. It's a paycheck, nothing more.

Cons

Constant turmoil. Very high attrition rate; a revolving door. They treat people poorly then heap on more work. No recognition or reward for effort. NAB is extremely profitable, yet bonuses are withheld for no apparent reason. Incompetent managers at key positions. Total chaos. Tell people what they want to hear, just to keep forward momentum, with no intent of following though.

Pros

Fair work/life balance most of the time Technical products/processes improving rapidly Free coffee. Yay?

Cons

HR Senior Leadership completely out of touch with the real world No real sense of team -- a lot of pitting people against each other and using outside corporate culture vendors as a crutch/showpiece. Lack of daycare, fitness center, cafeteria, or even vending machines. Fancy strobe lights and decor may impress candidates, but do nothing for your actual staff. No work-at-home process in place for call center employees.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. I’d like to address your opinions: With regards to the corporate culture concern, our leadership team recognized via previous engagement surveys results, feedback from team members, and exit interview data that we had an opportunity to improve our culture. Yes, a significant investment was made in partnership with a third party, experts in building company cultures that align with the companies vision, to assist us. We asked all team members for their thoughts on the culture and then asked them what they thought the ideal culture should be. The next step was creating a new set of core values, which were developed by leaders and team members across the company, to define the culture using the feedback that was received. As with any change, this will take time with the support of everyone in the company. You indicated on this review that you’ve been with the company for over 5 years, so I can understand part of your skepticism given the results of the past. I can assure you that we are very serious about the need to transform our culture and I invite you to trust me and participate in this process with us. Regarding the perks that you would like to see, we understand that not having cafeteria and vending services available to our team members recently has been an inconvenience. As you know, we are in the process of identifying a new food service provider which will be introduced soon. In the meantime, we have arranged to have a catering company to provide lunch to our team members twice a week. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to provide daycare services or a fitness center at this time, however we have been offering free membership to the Troy Community Center which offers a complete fitness center for your use. This benefit has been available for over a year. A pass is available at the front desk of our corporate office. We are very fortunate to have such beautiful spaces in which to work everyday as well as great colleagues to work with. I regularly receive feedback on the changes that have been made at NAB, from increased benefits, the amazing office spaces, and the talent on our teams. environment at our corporate office. Finally – I would ask, if you have concerns, please schedule some time with me to discuss them. I am vested and passionate in the success of all of our team members and would always welcome an open dialogue to discuss challenges and/or concerns. My email address is jkellogg@nabancard.com. I look forward to hearing from you.
