A much better place to work

Pros

The company just went through some changes, which were tough for everyone. But the changes have made it a much better place to work. It's now leaner, and more employee-focused. Work dress is casual, and there are several fun activities for office staff: ping pong, fun Fridays, etc.

Cons

In the past, it felt as though mangers (and HR) didn't listen to the employees. But with changes in management, there's a request for employee feedback. It's much better.

Overall Good

Pros

1. You have access to all of the Anesthesia Providers in the Company to query about protocols, experiences, and patient care. 2. If you are in a Leadership Position, they spend considerable resources in order to train and develop your skill set. 3. They allow local culture to drive their initiatives and they do not micromanage. 4. They continue to learn and apply what they have learned through difficulty, in order to make future acquisitions smoother.

Cons

1. Making sure the sales team vs. clinical teams communicate of the expectations of the contract. 2. If the local culture prior to Northstar coming in is toxic, it takes awhile to remove that culture completely. Not a knock on a the company but a reality in contract acquisition.

NorthStar Anesthesia Response

2017 was a tough year on many different fronts, including a difficult set of right-sizing events that affected many individuals and families. The Executive Leadership team recognizes that changes were needed and we are in the midst of many of them right now as this post is getting added to this site. While a large amount of our work is focused on supporting our tremendously talented Physicians and CRNAs in the field, we are equally committed to our amazing corporate employees being heard, and changing the culture to one that relies on Accountability through clear Definitions and clear Communication. No one and no place is ever perfect, but we will get better. Thanks for your feedback.
