Pros

Our group is a good one. For the most part, anesthesiologists and CRNAs get along well. Although we are team model set up, the CRNAs have a good amount of autonomy, (starting cases, doing cases and ending them without much interference from MDAs. In fact, I rarely see them in the OR. Occasionally they may assist with induction by applying monitors and getting the Bair Hugger in place.

Cons

Only 4 weeks vacation. One week CME. Cannot rollover any PTO days to the following year if unused. No family leave. Our schedule only comes out one month to 5 weeks ahead of time. 3000 dollar deductible. When deductible is met, the employee will always be responsible for 20% of medical expenses. 401k match is very small. Only 1500.00 allowance for CME. And...NO RAISE IN FOUR YEARS!!

Management on a power trip!

Pros

Free drinks and beer, a few of the people here and there who were actually helpful!! It was people who were there longer than most of the upper management!

Cons

What isn't a con! This place truly needs to calm down on all of the management. They have entirely too many chiefs here. If you don't kiss butt and hang out with them after work drinking you are not well liked. Also if your not working 12-14 hrs a day you are worthless! It is very sad that they treat their employees the way they do. Their is a few great managers there but they are not in the upper management positions!

NorthStar Anesthesia takes all reviews seriously and appreciates employees, current and former, taking the time to write a review. NorthStar is a high growth company that focuses on quality and performance. With high growth comes an exciting, fast paced, and dynamic work environment, which may not be for everyone. We work hard to create a culture that treats all employees fairly and rewards hard work. We acknowledge that in a high growth environment there are times where employees work longer hours. We appreciate this dedication and do not take it for granted, or expect that it will be the long-term norm.
