Pros

Purpose driven mission: Care, Comfort, Plan NorthStar Memorial Group is deeply committed to caring for decedents with dignity, comforting the living with compassion, and helping families plan for the future. Employees are part of work that truly matters, serving families during life’s most meaningful and difficult moments. Strong culture rooted in PACT values Passion, Accountability, Caring, and Teamwork are not just words here—they guide daily decisions and expectations. Team members take pride in their work, hold themselves and one another accountable, genuinely care for the families they serve, and collaborate across locations and disciplines. Empowered local leadership with regional support Leaders are trusted to run their operations while receiving strong regional and home office support. There is respect for local knowledge and community relationships, balanced with shared standards and best practices. Opportunities to grow and build a career Employees who demonstrate passion for service, accountability in results, and strong teamwork are often given opportunities to expand their roles. Cross training and internal advancement are encouraged, especially for those interested in leadership. Team oriented environment Whether in a funeral home, cemetery, crematory, or office setting, people step up to support each other, especially during high volume or emotionally demanding periods. There’s a genuine sense that everyone is working toward the same mission.

Cons

Emotionally demanding work Caring for decedents and comforting families requires emotional strength and professionalism. This is meaningful work, but it can be challenging and is not for everyone. High expectations for accountability NorthStar sets clear performance standards. Employees are expected to own their responsibilities, follow processes, and deliver consistent service. Those who prefer less structure or accountability may struggle. Change is part of growth As the company continues to improve systems, processes, and consistency, employees will experience change. Adaptability, flexibility, and the ability to provide constructive feedback to improve is important.

Pros

Supportive leadership, strong team culture, opportunities for growth, and meaningful, people focused, mission driven work.

Cons

Like many organizations in the modern era, we are experiencing some growing pains with implementing new technologies. I wouldn't say they are cons more than challenges.
