Pros

Northrop has good education benefits, the best pay of 3 companies I have worked for to date and the management (at least here locally) really cares about the individual and will do what they can should a contract expire. The company and mangement get involved to try and move you to another contract if possible.

Cons

The higher corporate execs get into the weeds sometimes and make decisions that seem to be detrimental to winning business (future contracts). They seem to view higher profit as a top priority versus a dollar earned today is a more than you had yesterday. The divisions in NG compete against each other to the detriment of a project. Twice I have seen a contract lost because 2 different divisions were unable to work together for the good of the contract because they both wanted to protect their own piece of the pie. So instead of one division agreeing to allow the other to "manage" the project, they were like 2 seperate companies bickering over their fair share which led to the award of the contract to another company at the next option year.

Pros

Benefits are very good, it's large enough to find multiple opportunities, it's flexible about working at home or on flex hours in most locations. In my location, we have "9-80", meaning that we work 9 hours a day and take every other Friday off. It's a very nice benefit -- even if you don't take the day off, you have a chance to catch-up since you aren't supposed to schedule meetings on that day.

Cons

It can be really hard to make Director for even talented people with good leadership skills, and it is almost impossible to make VP. They like to hire from outside for upper level positions, and lately I've witnessed a couple VP positions filled without competition.
