Pros

Northrop has great benefits and the job stability is outstanding, they very rarely let people go for lack of performance.

Cons

Terrible raises, they do not like to promote from within, they have a culture of keeping the workers working and the lazy promoted. When experienced, the salary offered is laughable and partially offensive when applying from within. It's a terrible company for personal growth and satisfaction and I do no recommend working there.

Pros

NG is a place where front line leaders and middle managers are working incredibly hard to help their people succeed. Salary and benefits are at least competitive.

Cons

Unfortunately, morale is so low amongst experienced employees that it is bringing them all down. Turnover, engagement are all negative, and there is no trust of the executives. Hiring and promoting is done in a black box, favoritism is rampant, if you are older and experienced you are a goner in favor of younger and diverse candidates.

Pros

Interesting work. Lots of room for advancement. Pay and benefits good. Ability to transfer to other NG facilities. Great lunchroom.

Cons

Huge 1 million square foot building with no windows and locked doors everywhere. If you are hourly you better bring a lunch because you get 30 min to eat. It will probably take 5 min just to get to the lunchroom. If you order food thats another 5-10min. Eat fast so you can clock back in on your computer within 30. Engineer's and scientist's are treated much better. Lots of chronyism and nepotism. Don't say to anyone in the hallways they will just stare at the floor and keep walking.

Northrop Grumman Response

Thank you for your comments. We are sure that employees at this facility recognize that the very sensitive nature of the work that we do there, plus the wide range of development, manufacturing, and testing activities underway in all parts of the campus, does not always allow for us to provide as many windows or open spaces as we would like. However, we're continuing to upgrade and improve common spaces to make our facilities more energy efficient, safe, and comfortable for our employees, and you should see positive developments in the near future. Please take advantage of your local all-hands meetings, focus groups, roundtable discussions, employee engagement projects, and employee resource groups to share your concerns and suggestions for constructive change and improvement. Your local human resources and management personnel are there to listen and provide opportunities to improve the workplace and culture.
