Pros

Frontline staff work hard. They really try with what little support they receive.

Cons

Toxic senior leadership. Recognition program is in place, but leadership FAILS to recognize their staff. The lack of competent leadership is driving nurses away from the organization. The hospital is a revolving door. People come, but leave quickly. The benefits package is lousy too, with Northwell delving into their "own" insurance, you are relegated to Northwell providers unless you want to pay an arm and a leg for competent care. Welcome back to the days of "working for the company store." Maybe if you live on Long Island, it is better, but if you live in Westchester and work for one of the Westchester hospitals, you are working for a miserable enterprise. If you are not front line staff, expect to pay through the nose for the privilege of having lousy insurance. Michael Dowling and Northwell wish to become the nanny state of NY, telling everyone what to do.

Pros

The paychecks don't bounce, that's the only good thing.

Cons

Managers engage in workplace bullying, making fun of people they don't like. Management do not treat their employees like people...they are treated like garbage. They are no different than when they were called North shore LIJ.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. Our leaders are helping us in our quest to define the health care industry of tomorrow, but our employees are team players made for unwavering support. Our organization is continuously changing, whether it is bringing on new hospitals/practices, coming up with refreshed values, or re-structuring our leadership teams. Be ensured that we are partnering with our leaders to ensure all of our employees are receiving the respect and support they need in order to be successful. Please speak with your HR representative to express your concerns in greater detail as we take them very seriously.

Pros

- Good amount of vacation time - Some people are good to work with

Cons

- The lazier one is, the more one is rewarded - Poor pay compared to other hospitals - Administration and management do not treat employees well - Tedious amounts of extra work in addition to your regular work - Doctors do not listen to the nurses or treat nurses with respect - Management are all new nurses and do not have proper training as floor nurses first - The more someone complains, the more management cowtails to them and their needs.
