High commission rates, complete flexibility, great educational opportunities, no income cap, perfect way for someone with no finance background to get into the industry.

Cons

-Long hours (typically 7:00AM-6:00PM) -Starting out is slow, and painful -Must build own client base through networking and referrals -90% Rejection rate -Intense pressure and unrealistic goals to meet -Need better mentoring of new reps

Pros

You get to make your own schedule, even if you are right out of college. The products are top-notch and respected within the industry.

Cons

Very little office interaction. It is easy to get lost among all of the other young employees because turnover is so high.

Pros

Great opportunities for growth, very good company morals, good company ethic, always have paid dividends, been around for over 150 years

Cons

You are paid on a commission base only, making it hard and a bit scary to start a position with this company as a new college grad.
