Pros
Good healthcare, good PTO, robust social networking. Retirement investments and savings programs vary. Nice buildings in downtown location. Excellent and vital research, dedicated employees. Z
Cons
Non-physicians are far less valuable than MDs and research PhDs. Salaries are capped, input on systems and development can be ignored (if there’s a systemic problem, Faculty and Physicians are the only ones who can effect change). HR issues with the aforementioned are swept aside (sexual harassment, overt racism, abuse), but missteps by staff will result in termination regardless of rank. The systems in place to negotiate equity function only for students and faculty, not staff. The University seems to be terrified of potential unions.
