Pros

The area that it is in.

Cons

There are people in management positions that have no business being there, It's all about who you know. Be really careful about being lured here. If something doesn't work out there are virtually no other places to work.

Pros

There are some good people who work at Novant and believe in the mission. Pay is pretty good. Teams seem to genuinely care about each other and will help each other with the incredibly heavy workloads.

Cons

The pace at which this organization is acquiring things is breakneck. Growth can be good but Novant is expanding like a cancer with not enough infrastructure to support the acquisitions and the focus is only on the next acquisition. One group has come to run the entire entity in the past two years and single handedly changed the culture for the worst. It’s not just the acquisitions and the unreasonable pace but the toxic way this group interacts with the rest of the organization. If employees complain about the pace of change we’re gaslit by being told we aren’t “change ready”. It’s not that we’re not change ready and open to change but the pace and volume is unsustainable with what the corporate departments are being asked to do with the limited resources we have, Novant gives lip service to the mission of a not-for-profit health system but has strayed far from that mission in the past two years. Path to promotion is unclear and promotions seem to be on a whim.

Pros

The company think are pros: Benefits such as health, dental and 401K Sign on Bonus ( if you need couple extra K)- according to the study only 12% people quit because of money. Not worth it! Relocation Bonus ( do not cover even half of your expenses moving from a different state). Not worth it!

Cons

TOXIC ENVIRONMENT, good nurses leaving, no respect to nurses, what’s important to you is not important to them, no opportunity to grow, poor life work balance, no support or consideration for emotional well being, no mentoring for growth and improvement, do not respect your boundaries, overwork their nurses even when fully staffed, play favorites and choose who to treat better, employees who set up boundaries get treated like an outcast to the point that it feels being lonely with stuff who don’t have your back, leadership team could not be trusted.
