Pros

-Nice refurbished office, large break room -Pay and medical benefits are decent

Cons

-First and most importantly, this job is not a real legal assistant job. It is a glorified call center at best. -You will be trained for less than a week by people who barely have any experience. Here a person with more than 3 months of experience is considered one of their “long term” employees. That should be a major red flag. People quit left and right with little to no warning and no one is surprised. -They tell you it is okay to be unfamiliar with medical terminology/conditions. It is if you want to fumble around on the phone and have clients get mad at you because you don’t know the right questions to ask about various medications and side effects of their illnesses. -You will get thrown into the job with no training on how to handle people cussing you out and yelling at you. You will be expected to get right back into another call almost immediately after those calls hang up on you. -You will get nudged to get back onto the phone and make more calls if they notice you taking a breather, even if you have made over 200 calls that day. -Bonuses are nonexistent -Other legal assistants are nice because they understand what you are dealing with in your daily work routine, but beware the faux friendly persona of the higher-ups, including the floor supervisors for the legal assistants

Pros

Co-workers are nice and the majority of the job is pretty straightforward. Just go through the application with client's for SSA. Co-workers are nice and supportive.

Cons

Expected to jump into hour long phone call appointments at the drop of a hat with customers ill prepared to give you the information you need, which creates a rather stressed out environment. Upper management changes things at the drop of a hat in order to "maximize results." Half the time you're expected to shove these people, who are often in their 50's, through all the questions regarding medical and job history so you can move on to the next one, which can lead to missing information since the client often doesn't know what they need before they set up their appointment, especially if it's one of the "live transfer" calls. There is an incentive system in place that gives a pay boost, but the requirements to be eligible are high enough that most weeks nobody would get it.
