Pros

Excellent pay and benefits. Culture is campus like and they are very understanding about appointments or if you are ill. It is high stress but the people are fun in my department. Direct supervisor is great, always ready with a compliment if you are working hard or go above and beyond..

Cons

High stress! Other departments that you require to work directly with you are very disrespectful. It is hard to get their help when it is required and they are dismissive when they do help.

Pros

OI is a company over 100 years old and doesn't look to be going away. Very stable in the glass bottle making market place. As a company, OI has battled through most of the asbestos litigation and is still standing. Where other companies folded or filed for bankruptcy, OI managed the payouts and stayed in the game. Some really wonderful people work at OI and they have decent vacation time and are very diverse. They are very dedicated to ethics and morales and have continuous training for all employees on those topics. They hire cutting edge workers from colleges around the country.

Cons

Over the last few years, O-I has become very focused with "the stockholders." For a few years they had been very focused on building people and workplace satisfaction. They had invested in the Pathways program fostering employee happiness in and out of work. Then management changed and the focus changed from people to dollars. There have been several troubling days over the last few years, generally around the holidays, where large groups of people were let go. They have gotten rid of a lot of experience to cut budgets and are feeling the effects of those decisions now.

Pros

the pay was excellent, another reason was that holidays were triple time, if you decided to work on that day

Cons

Some of the downsides of working for OI was that you had to work a rotating shift and the rotation was a weekly rotation
