Just because you are necessary doesn't mean you are important.
Pros
It's a job to pay the bills and keep the family fed. You may have the opportunity for limited advancement if you ingratiate yourself with the right people.
Cons
I worked directly for this company for 11 years, and until recently was still closely affiliated with it. Over the years I have seen the company culture change from one of respect and good relations with its employees to one where warehouse employees are considered an expendable resource, nothing more than a necessary cost of doing business. Job security is an illusion, with a higher than normal rate of termination among employees with ten or more years of service. Reasons given for terminations tend to be flimsy, which has led to speculation that there is an ulterior motivation for firing so many higher paid employees. Best advice is to not stay too long. Learn a new skill or two, and use that knowledge as a springboard to employment somewhere else.
