Pros

You will never work with a better group of people.

Cons

CIO Scott Ross is ruining the company culture from the ground up. What used to be a supportive, caring, stable organization has now sacrificed hundreds of employees for low wage jobs in India. The trust in leadership is gone. The culture values are meaningless. I will personally never step foot in an O’Reilly store again and neither will anyone else in my family. Many years of service is rewarded with replacement. The company does not care for its employees as it once did. The reviews and steady decline of the company rating on Glassdoor should be evidence enough of that.

Pros

If you can keep your head up and out of the daily decisions of the company you might be fine. Some people in the corporate office are nice enough.

Cons

You can see clearly the company cares solely about executive pay raises and bonus on top of outside stakeholders. Employees are left to feel unheard and uncared for. Medical coverage and sick time ripped away from roughky 20,000 Employees this year alone. 11% staff reduction from IT this year. The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team has slowly and SILENTLY been killed. No more recognition for anyone who isnt a white Christian as of 2025.

Fast paced, you are always learning, fun interacting with team and customers.

Cons

Pay is a joke, if you are an Adult who needs a wage to support yourself or a family do not work here. You will get sold on taking a low hourly wage but commission and opportunities will be there. Yes opportunities will be there because turn over is so high and no one wants to move up anymore due to uncompetitive wages and commission chart will make you giggle. It's a very successful company that produces year over year but does not take care of its people. It only gets worse as you move up. Trust me there are jobs you can get now that will out pay this company anyday. And if you have been there a while and in management do yourself a favor and create yourself a nice resume and start applying elsewhere. I guarantee you will find something and probably make more than your DM who is most likely underpaid to. Anyways what once was a great company with a great culture is no more than a typical big box corporation. Do not fall for the hype and ra ra......Stockholders 1st, Customers 2nd and team members last....
