Pros

The pay is reasonably competitive and there is room for pay negotations

Cons

The company is quite a corporate environment and felt similar to what I would expect in large companies in the US, which personally does not suit my more relaxed, less formal style of working. You are expected to work a lot of overtime without any compensation; when I flagged that I was overwhelmed by the number of hours I was expected to work, I was told that it was up to me to manage my own calendar. However, I had no control over the number of job requests that came through and was not given any leeway when I attempted to push back.

Thank you for your feedback, we do encourage creativity and flexibility to enable our people to be autonomous in order to do whats best for the client whilst also managing their work/life balance in the way that makes most sense for them. However, if balancing these things becomes challenging, we would encourage you to reach out to your line manager to work together on reaching that more balanced view.

Pros

Great team, supportive, friendly, interesting.

Cons

Intense, if you haven't worked at an agency before, but it's a good learning experience.

Pros

- You can work from home (you might have to as they closed several offices across the UK)

Cons

- Extremely overcapacity workforce, burnout among colleagues is the norm - New colleagues to the business or to the client account will regularly get thrown into the deep end and I do not think the company is managed in a way that promotes a safe learning environment as existing team members do not have the time to properly invest in onboarding new colleagues - Overtime is the norm, which is not rewarded in a meaningful way (the most recognition will be a shout out in the company newsletter, easily ignored) - Seniors will put more junior colleagues in the firing line - A lot of people made redundant through 2023, no recruitment to match the growing project workload and no promotions/pay rises; quite top heavy in some areas of the business with a lot of senior people who sit in meetings, but not enough junior or middle roles to do the actual work - Extremely out of touch senior leadership - You can voice your concerns about work life balance and overworking to your line manager and more senior managers all you want, but nothing will change in a sensible time frame (if at all)

Thank you for your feedback, we are a little surprised about the comment about the offices. We closed under utilised offices in locations that no longer made sense for OPEN Health but we have great offices in London, Oxford and Manchester and encourage our people to visit those when they can. We will always encourage our people to learn quickly and take advantage of the experiences of others around them. That said, we do want to nurture learning and so if we are not quite hitting the mark please do share specific examples so we can improve.
