Pros

The pay is slightly above market. There are some good people there, but they're departing.

Cons

KAR I.T. has struggled culturally for years as referenced by the years of poor reviews. It's gone from bad to worse. Senior leadership in IT is vastly former Interactive Intelligence folks who are bringing in their lackeys who tell them how awesome they are, but aside from that cling on to the results of others efforts. It seems each week, more of them start. It's an exclusive club where all decisions are made without participation from anyone else. You'll be lucky if you're told what to do (these folks don't communicate), let alone asked what you think, but offer a varying opinion and you'll be labeled a resistor and managed out. If you think Interactive was awesome, head on over to their reviews and see what's said there during the time they were in charge. Better yet, ask companies who used their vaporware product that never delivered. "Purecloud". Since nothing's communicated, people fill the vacuum with conspiracy theory about large layoffs coming, who's on the bubble, etc. It seems the seeds are purposefully being sown by the new regime. A lot of games are being played, including gaming people against each other. KAR I.T. is not a pleasant place to be. I always read similar reviews with a grain of salt thinking people were low performers and just disgruntled they were being held accountable. I assure you, this situation is very different. With the job market the way it is, I would look elsewhere. These cats are only in this for the short haul to achieve whatever objective they've been given, collect a big check and will leave the smoke and mirrors for someone else to clean up. Do a little reading and research, there's a pattern there. Ask around the I.T. community. The outcome is somewhat predictable.

Pros

They try to make it fun, but it falls flat due to lack of authentic care about people.

Cons

We are flooded with new hires ( most from interactive intelligence) to replace the people who are leaving en masse, and those that are being fired under guise of transformation and reorganize. Good people who are tired of the culture being eroded and their skills and value trashed are jumping ship in droves. Directors, managers, Vice Presidents are leaving, senior employees are leaving. Contractors are being paid to go to training, trained and allowed to take certification tests all on KAR dime, while employees are not being trained or are being shuffled to lower level teams and roles. The environment is stifling, cut throat, and full of ego. Stay away.

Like many industries, automotive remarketing is undergoing a rapid transformation driven by advances in data and technology. With any transformation there comes change, and change brings both new challenges and new opportunities. So we recognize we need to evolve our operating model and in some to capture the many opportunities ahead and lead that change. Though we don’t believe your comments accurately portray our company or culture, we do appreciate your candor. Feel free to share more or ask us any questions at listens@karauctionservices.com.

Pros

Pay in range Company spends lots of cash, so long as it matches their view of technology. Benefits are better than average

Cons

Hostile work environment. They talk of employee led culture but a small white male long term good old boy network drives the agenda. They micro manage and subvert at all levels of mid level management. Most people quit or are fired after a relatively short period of time. Run far from this place
