Pros

can be flexible with hours, good starting place.

Cons

if all the cashiers and supervisors actually worked all the time, it would be a better environment, but favorites are played. some supervisors get away with doing nothing, while others are pushed to work. same goes for the cashiers. and applying to a position part time and wanting to become full - time is near impossible.

Pros

From the moment I started with the company I have been treated with respect and appreciation from people at all levels of the organization.

Cons

OSJL is improving benefits every day. There is still work to be done, but great strides are being taken. 401(k) match would make a big difference.

Pros

Working for a family oriented company where the owners really care about the people who work for the company. What other privately held retailer, gives their associates a profit participation check every year, with increases every year for the past several years.

Cons

Sometimes new associates are quick to form opinions and don't give it the time to really get to know the company and what they really stand for.
