Pros

Great work life balance. Coworkers generally care about each other.

Cons

Information dissemination and general organization. Projects not well planned with lots of pivoting. A lot of old code base.

Pros

WFH, Relaxed Environment, Nice coworkers. ( Big pro, the devs are great guys/girls) Pay is decent, but the health insurance was very expensive if you have a family. (For Texas) 6% 401k match Developer teams are very accommodating if you need to go to a DR appointment, or if you need to step out during work hours for whatever reason.

Cons

Texas Family Health Insurance runs between 1200 to 1500 a month depending on your plan. (This is why I left) Management is very hands off. This seems okay at first, but you often end up in a situation where you don't know what's going on in the code base, and there is no one to reach out to. The code base is ancient. They are in the middle of rewriting, but man, it's so hard to navigate. If you don't reach out yourself it's very easy for them to forget you exist. (Some may see this as a pro) As other have said, there is very little guidance here. It's super easy to work here for 6 months and have no idea what's going on. You have 3 weeks of PTO. No sick time. PTO and that's it.
