      Pros

      Office Depot has been a great company to work for. The district managers have been very supportive in developing me to store manager. If you do a good job an work hard, the senior management really supports you in advancing your career.

      Cons

      Senior management spends lots of $ on changing programs for small or not results. Retail is change but, the constant change to then change things back is hard to deal with.

      Pros

      I get to work with a lot of committed people who are proud of the work they do. Management provides up to date communication on issues facing the company as well as where we are succeeding.

      Cons

      There are time where the focus on a given KPI is so over the top that it takes on a life of its own, and becomes a bigger focus than taking care of customers and growing profitable sales.

      Pros

      If you have a good core of staff, it does make it better to work there. Advancement is okay... Hours of operation isn't too bad.

      Cons

      Can't hire good staff because of their starting wages and they don't let you wiggle to much with the wages. Micro-managed even at a store manager level, talk about having their thumb on you. In your review they talk about thinking outside of the box; how can you... Email email email email, if your not in front of your computer at least 2 or 3 time an hour you will be overwhelmed with email. They change their mind about things like a person changes clothes... No 401k match, salary freeze, Bonus? What is that???
