Flexible, good pay, good middle management, quick to learn industry. There is a great career path and this company has plenty of opportunities for advancement.

Upper Management cannot put together a complete and concise plan for the company. Difficult to follow bonus plans. Competitive Industry. The lack of communication between internal departments is a huge stress on the employees as well as the customer.

Pros

great to work with the people & consumers. As far as retail goes not really a bad work schedule. Commissions on PPP's & services.

Cons

sr level management does not care for employees!benefit cuts, salary caps, payroll reduction not ype of long term growth plan in place...'shoot from the hip" management practices. Constant conference calls to dissect the issues. Not adeqaute enough hours to execute task and sales intiatives handed down by corporate office. Canvassing door to door like a Kirby salesman. Poor advertising stratedigies operatintng the business as if it were a yard sale. Pulling of the vending machines to make you buy snacks from the store to boost sales, very poor inventory control & replenishment processes.

Pros

I came to OD as a specialized technician. The job was fine and the pay was good. Management supported the assigned projects and provided fair reviews. I took on a roll on a computer platform that I was unfamiliar with, but learned by doing. I was given the opportunity to take a class on the new platform and have become the "resident expert" in my duties. Respect from others have come my way from both the technical team and the management team. The ability to grow is the most positive thing I can say about OD. But, you must take the initiative.

Cons

A major project was announced by Steve Odland in 2005 and was to be complete by October 2007. The project was met with scrutiny by the technical staff and first level management. We were instructed by upper management to either get on board or get out. Cost overruns have hampered the project but it continues to move forward. Many contractors hours have been spent in attempting to make the new systems work. The project has been delayed for a variety of reasons. Management paints a rosy picture, but the technicians close to the project state otherwise, so no one really knows what the truth is.
