Lots of hours and good pay.

Cons

In this job they do not care for you they will overwork you (possibly 13 hours a day) but the biggest problem is some of the people trying to get younger people fired for as little as going to the bathroom. Job is also not good for anyone mentally.

Some of the people you work with are great and willing to help you learn. PTO is good.

Cons

The benchmark for success at the category assistant level is constantly pushed further away by eliminating positions above you. You will be working the job of 3 people since they keep laying people off. You will be written mediocre reviews to prevent the delusion of promotion. Processes are antiquated and training barley exists. Get ready to teach yourself how to do a job you were not even hired to do and be met with resistance when you have a question. Management is not transparent about anything and restructuring happens about 3 times a year. Also, prepare for a 2% pay increase when inflation is 15% effectively accepting a 13% pay decrease.

I was happy I grew my manager skills with Depot. I am happy with what I learned.

Cons

The company is in survival mode. They are forcing managers to run more than one building with very little financial increase. The two most recent stores I ran every one left was we fired. The employees are over worked with the staffing allowances and corporate doesn't care. Amazon will eventually be the end and I would like to see people leave while they still have jobs to support themselves. So sad where it went from when I started. I was there for 18 years
