Pros

-Talented senior leadership team from Director level up -Work/life balance -Company culture

Cons

-Executive Leadership struggling to find growth opportunities -Company has empowered Finance to drive too many strategic decisions that have stifled ability to grow in the core business segments. -ELT has spent considerable company resources on new P2P Procurement platform that hasn't shown any material growth in almost 3 years and after tens of millions of dollars of investment

Pros

Typically a friendly environment as far as coworkers go, although that bond in my experience is formed over bad management.

Cons

Promises of promotions that never happen, alongside pay caps (I was informed that I would never receive another raise outside of minimum wage increases), terrible payroll management, toxic management, lack of compassion, feigning ignorance in the eyes of blatant sexual harassment, terrible management of medical leave, hardly any benefits, and outside of peak times of the year, they will actively cut your hours to the bare minimum regardless of wether or not your store hits or exceeds sales goals.

Pros

My co-workers and managers as well as the general manager that I had are amazing! While I'm leaving, they are helping me with applying to other jobs! They're being extremely helpful and not badgering me to stay at Office Depot! The hours are extremely flexible as a student in high school and soon to be college, and the pay is better than other competition!

Cons

1. The boss of my general manager, called Beth, hasn't done a good job of accommodating to all of the employees. As a copy and print specialist, you're expected to work with customers and spend time working on their print orders, and often times, that will mean standing hours on end, and quite frankly, the 'Suitable Seating Law by California' prohibits companies forcing employees to stand when sitting is 'reasonably allowed'. 2. My managers had to fight very, VERY hard for my beginning wage, which granted is way more than what other people make at other jobs, but half of my coworkers were adults and having to pay for their own things, and again, as a high school student I didn't have to pay for things such as rent, but on what I started, and only being able to get a max of 25 hours? Rent is unimaginable among a car loan and food. The maximum a copy and print specialist is meant to earn is $15/hr I believe (above what I make), which I believe is the starting wage for managers. 3. While the hours are accommodating, the maximum ANY employee will receive at my store regularly is 25 hours/wk, and while managers are 'full time', they only receive ~32 hours/wk. PTO for part time doesn't start until a year after your hire date, and the only ones to receive any other benefits like health care and such are managers. 4. A small team is still expected to generate the same amount as a larger team! I'm not entirely sure how this works but I just know that for my store, we will end up going nowhere with 3-4 people employed during rushes of customers. 5. Your specialty is not your specialty. Often times, I find myself having to be a Sales Advisor (help customers with finding items or printers or a desk or chair they wish to see, it's fine if it's once every now and then but it's a day to day occurrence) or Logistics person (having to stock and face aisles). Use this to your own digression, but from my experience, if you're over 18 you're expected to learn everything in the store gradually.
