Pros

Opportunities to learn PC repair, design editing in Copy & Print.

Cons

Tremendous work responsibilities that are deserving of more than minimum wage. Copy and Print jobs can require using PhotoShop, MS Office, and custom graphic design. Technology sales/repair requires technological acumen of the latest computer devices and peripherals.

Pros

Enjoy a flexible schedule. Management always gives requested time off.

Cons

Upper management has no clue how to run a store properly yet they micro manage every aspect of the operations with policies and procedures. Constantly changing priorities. They don't care about their associates by taking away holiday pay and require them to work on Thanksgiving Day while they are home with their families. Will be looking for a new career real soon.

Pros

Big company with good benefits. Nice, friendly and hard-working people work there. They try to create a positive culture, but the machine is just too big to sustain with the positive programs they "start" but then have to pull the plug on because they can't afford to maintain them...but they try.

Cons

Huge disconnect between corporate and satellite offices. Constantly in transition either merging or in negotiation to be bought out by another company. As a result, there is chaos with shipping, distribution, systems and the customers just finally get pissed off enough and leave. Office Supplies is s shrinking business, yet the goals keep increasing. There's a lot of management that they call "leaders" that are just bumbling around like everyone else. They tell you things are great and you have nothing to worry about, the next week they're eliminating positions and/or demoting people. They'll tell you anything to get you to drink the kool-aid, but be careful....it's poisoned. The managers are mere pawns in a much larger financial game even unbenownst to them much less the poor worker bees.
