Used to be a great company

Pros

Decent pay and benefits. Somewhat flexible hours. People were the best part.

Cons

Went downhill after the CEO and CFO were sacked by the board. Didn't care for upper management screaming at employees and slamming doors when they didn't get their way. Letting developers be cowboys was frequently a recipe for disaster.

Decent place, brutal politics

Pros

It's a pretty laid back environment, mostly flexible hours, lots of good, smart people. Pay is pretty good for the industry and size of company. Upper management is a good group with good vision and have eliminated most of the negativity within the organization.

Cons

The politics in the middle tier of the company can be brutal. Some of the cliques can be difficult to work with and many individuals who are in powerful position offer little value to the business or their respective teams. Some managers are known to do close to nothing, but somehow are still here. There are still some negative influences within the company that need to be dealt with.

Working for Transzap

Pros

Flexible about working from home when it made sense for either employee or the company. Salary and vacation time were pretty good, and there were opportunities to move up with promotions. As a technology company they were open to embracing new technologies and moving with the tech industry.

Cons

Often opportunities for training were very limited. I think I only participated in one or two training classes in more than ten years.
