Pros

They offered great pay and it was an experience to know what I need to focus on in my career. It was very difficult to maintain the hours they promised me as a FTE due to the lack of work. They were also very quick to hire me once they learned I wanted to be a FTE and was looking for those types of hours.

Cons

They had very poor communication within the team. I felt like I was constantly sending emails to HR to find out what my options were to try to resolve the lack of communication. Since I was a HCC coder who was at the end of the cycle they had very poor communication about end of contracts with clients so there was a lot of shifting us around since there was a loss of work with various clients with very poor management. I was hired on to just to be moved around with little to no explanation of the expectation of the contract and then let go after a few months thinking I had job security again with little communication. I had to provide my own equipment (computer, extra monitor & encoder) at my own expense. The training for the contract was nonexistent and when asked I about it I was told that everyone there should already know how to code so it was not necessary. You will quite literally be thrown into the position.

Hi, thank you for taking the time to leave a review on Glassdoor. We’re glad you found the pay competitive and that the role offered valuable career insight. Because of the nature of our client assignments, we do typically look to hire experienced coders who can quickly adapt to a new project. That said, we’re sorry for the challenges you experienced with communication, training, and shifting workloads. Your input on clearer expectations, better onboarding, and consistent support is appreciated and will help guide our ongoing improvements. Feel free to reach out to us at EmployeeRelationsUS@omegahms.com if you have any further questions or feedback.

Pros

*Working at home *I worked for an academic medical center for 5 years and the managers at the hospital treated us well and we had good training & continuing education webinars * Had some good managers but they were stretched thin *Audits were done well, the auditor was available to meet with to discuss recommendations

Cons

*hard to take PTO *working holidays *not great benefits *no part-time jobs *I was first hired when the company was Himagine Solutions and we had more online meetings with the leaders so we knew what was happening, when Omega took over it was harder to find out what was going on; it all seemed to be more about growing the company into a trillion dollar business. *IT hard to deal with *You have to buy your own laptop and monitor

Thank you for taking the time to provide this valuable feedback and for your long tenure with Omega Healthcare. We're glad to hear you appreciated working from home, the training, and support from managers and auditors. We understand your concerns about PTO, benefits, and communication changes since the transition to Omega. We’re actively working to improve IT support, and explore more flexible options for our team. We also recognize the challenge of providing your own equipment, which varies from client to client. Your feedback is valuable as we continue to grow and improve. Please feel free to reach out at EmployeeRelationsUS@omegahms.com with any further questions.
