Pros

As much over-time as you want.

Cons

If you have no life, family, friends, kids, not in school, and your looking to work your butt off all day and STILL not be able to leave on time, this is the place for you. The 1st thing they don't tell new hires is you have the same start time everyday but NEVER leave at the same time everyday. You can NOT leave until all of the prescriptions have been done for the day and that is at EVERY Omnicare worldwide.

Pros

My coworkers were awesome. Vision insurance was excellent. Enjoyed interacting with customers and helping them. 401k wasn't bad.

Cons

Always in a state of upheaval the entire time I was there...from the 30 year CEO being forced to retire to the CVS buyout. Corporate was very big on starting these grand initiatives and then allowing them to peter out. (New dispensing software, core values recognition, etc.) Always a constant lack of communication from the tip top, although when I left they had made great strides in improving that. Poor compensation..."merit increases" were a whopping 1%...if at all...starting rates so abysmal that quality candidates refused to take positions, leading to perpetual short staffing. Now that CVS is in control there is also a lot of uncertainty as they are cutting off a lot of business that does not meet their financial objectives. Both corporately and locally a big deal is made over wanting to get employee feedback, but when the results come out, management picks 2 or 3 things to focus on and ignores the things that actually annoy people the most. Locally: poor application of policies...what flies in one department does not in another, new policies encourage coworkers to rat on each other over stupid, trivial things. Micromanagement, morgue-like atmosphere in certain departments, review process is comical and does not actually address problems, lack of appreciation for hard work from burnt out employees....instead of appreciating the fact that people have considerably increased their workload with no customer complaints about the product produced, instead people are told "why don't you do more overtime" and then fixation on things not being done that have no bearing on the customer...just something to appease the OCD tendencies of a manager.
