Pros

I loved Omnicell through 18 years of ups and downs. We were a family. When swaths of high-intensity, low leadership EQ management brought in, stock rose on the backs of depressed and broken staff. It became an utterly chaotic, thankless job.

Cons

Narcissistic managers hire other narcissistic managers because they hoo-rah to the same tune. Sounds great to upper mgt. but kills the overworked, under appreciated, and often degraded staff. HR tries but sides mostly with mgt. crazy-making. Sr. Director started and told staff her motto is “no pressure, no diamonds” - then proceeded to work her staff 24/7 and pit people against each other. Micromanagement in the extreme. Reporting gained nothing. Only results matter. There are better places out there and I hope this becomes one again. For now, RUN.

Pros

-Good people. Most care about the work they are performing -Good benefits -Great products, some trouble rolling out but very good ideas -Good communication from the top down -Activities committee sets up food, activities and events for the people

Cons

There is a major workplace bully that belittles and disrespects anybody that disagrees with her. Shouts at every differing opinion and never let people speak. I've been in meetings with this person several times where she has rudely treated people unprofessionally. I'm surprised that nothing has been done. Several people have complained. Silos among departments sometimes working against each other HR is not in our building and hard to reach sometimes

Crappy PTO & PCs

Pros

Nice people and a company that operates on making a difference in people's lives and health. Fairly easy to accomplish bonus, aka MBO, program. Work/life balance pretty good- for me, not a lot of night or weekend work was needed.

Cons

You're not told until you're hired that 1 of your 2 weeks of PTO has to be used during their company shutdown week (depending on your location may be week of July 4th or around Xmas time). If you don't have PTO to use, you'll have to take unpaid time off. Company's IT equipment is awful and makes it impossible to do your job. Windows PCs are crap and their conference phone & video lines are choppy and poor quality. Parallel to the healthcare industry, OMCL products are old-looking/feeling and not at all sexy. Overall, the company and its products and employees are the opposite of an exciting startup. Feels like a lot people work there simply because they are complacent and enjoy job security.
