Pros

Great people come to On and work incredibly hard to build a very cool product

Cons

Legacy employees get clear preferential treatment. Leadership talks behind people’s backs while pretending it’s a flat, open culture — it’s actually bureaucratic and cliquey. HR leadership copies consulting frameworks (Bain/McKinsey style) and pushes buzzwords like "Radical Candor," "strat house," and "9-box" without substance or genuine respect for people. Feedback culture is performative — people avoid honest feedback for fear of retaliation. Lots of people in leadership roles with no idea what they’re doing. Most people are doing 7-9 jobs at the same time. Zurich leadership takes major legal risks in North America that should concern any HR/compliance pro.

Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We’re sorry to hear this was your experience at On. We know that leaders are key to building a culture of trust – not just in principle, but in everyday behavior. Becoming a leader at On includes leadership onboarding and training, and we’re continuing to invest in this to better equip people to lead with clarity, accountability, and empathy. We consider feedback an important tool across the organization. We rolled out new feedback processes last year, including upward feedback where team members give feedback to their direct leader. And through our annual Engagement Survey, we review and take action on the feedback we receive from our teams. We're committed to building an environment with safe and open communication, as this is a key to the growth of everyone at On. We'll take on all your feedback and continue the work to make sure our teams can thrive with us.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear this has been your experience. Recognizing and valuing our people is extremely important to us and we hear your frustration around career development. While we aim to offer teammates breadth and exposure across different areas, we understand this can feel unclear without the right structure and intentionality. We'll take on your comments and continue working on making our development paths more transparent, measurable, and aligned with sustained, purposeful growth.

Pros

Decent access to discounts across products

Cons

This is truly one of the worst places you could ever work. Management is horrible—they consistently speak to employees in condescending tones and micromanage as if their lives depend on it. Many seem to get a thrill out of controlling young workers, which comes across as super weird and borderline sadistic. As someone with years of experience in the workforce, it’s clear that their practices and treatment of staff are completely unethical. You’re spoken to like you’re disposable, not trusted to do your job, and constantly criticized over minor tasks. The environment is incredibly toxic, leaving you feeling unappreciated and emotionally drained. The workplace itself is unwelcoming, with rampant favoritism undermining any sense of fairness. They claim to prioritize career progression, but that’s far from reality. The same goes for their talk about diversity and inclusion—their actions couldn’t be further from the truth.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re truly sorry to read this – no one should feel disrespected or unvalued at work. While this isn’t the culture we strive to build at On, we recognize that intent and impact can differ and we take your words seriously. We know that leadership is fundamental to any positive team environment. That’s why we continuously invest in leadership training, focused on building trust and adaptive communication. There’s still work to be done and we’ll continue prioritizing this. We’re also aware that culture is felt in the day-to-day – in how feedback is given, how people are treated, and whether there’s a real sense of belonging. Thank you.
