No leadership. No respect from upper management. No loyalty. Extremely low pay. They take advantage of people's passion to help the youth. The food that they feed the kids is absolutely horrible. You work 13 or 14 hours a day. You have no designated break. You eat when the kids eat you get a break when the kids break. Can be extremely violent and extremely dangerous. Staff has been knocked out teeth knocked out push down choked kicked. You will get every name you can imagine. And absolutely no backup from management or understanding. Also all management cares about is paper work getting done making sure they have their numbers right for DCFS so that they can get paid. So you are trying to manage a household full of dangerous kids. On top of trying to write reports so that onehope can get paid. On top of writing your daily logs. On top of writing incident reports. On top of dealing with the police. On top of dealing with runaways. On top of dealing with fights. On top of dealing with kids smoking and stealing. On top of working 10 - 14 hours per day. We know designated break. Unable to leave the living room or the hallway due to having no staff. Managing eight to ten men in a household with two staff. Managing a house full of young man with four female staff and one male staff. So you have no physical backup when the boys that are standing 6 feet tall 200 plus pounds are fighting each other. And throwing the women around because they are stronger than them. So as the male staff you are put in dangerous situations every five minutes by having to verbally and physically correct somebody.

Very little room for advancement, salary is very low with very few opportunities for an increase, terrible communication and very negative vibe when working with other locations...far from being a team atmosphere. Work is never good enough. Place is very unorganized, employees work many hours with little acknowledgement, agency needs a lot of help as it seems to only go downhill more and more. Complete surveys all the time, feedback doesn't seem to be used to make a difference.
