Pros

Great experience for learning, but severely understaffed and overworked.

Cons

I consistently felt like I was doing the work of two or even three accountants. I repeatedly told management that the workload was unsustainable and requested additional help. Although someone was eventually hired, the workload remained excessive. When I submitted my resignation, management asked me to help interview candidates because they needed to hire two people to replace me, which validated the concerns I had been raising all along. I was also promised a raise after completing my probationary period, but when I followed up, management claimed they didn’t remember that conversation and the raise never happened. I learned an important lesson: always get compensation promises in writing. The excessive workload also contributed to me developing tendinitis in my wrist. I would not recommend working here based on my experience.

Supportive team but struggles with leadership and communication

Pros

A few team members are supportive, though this is not consistent across the organization. Exposure to industry tools and workflows may be useful for those early in their careers. Some flexibility exists, but it varies significantly depending on team and management.

Cons

Leadership lacks clear direction and consistency, leading to frequent confusion and constantly shifting priorities. High turnover creates ongoing instability and increases the burden on remaining employees. Workloads are often unrealistic, with limited support and poor resource planning. There is a noticeable lack of proper tools and systems, making even routine tasks more difficult than necessary. Training and onboarding are minimal, leaving employees to figure things out on their own. Communication between teams is fragmented, resulting in inefficiencies and duplicated efforts. Feedback and performance management are inconsistent, making it difficult to grow or succeed.

We do care about our teammates. Our key value is #risetogether. We have raised customer service rates twice out of pay cycle in the last four years, and recently began more heavily shifting the burden of healthcare for most of our operational teammates more towards the company. With that all said, we are reviewing all employee pay vs. standard ("job architecture") and will make be making changes where it makes the most sense. Long story short, I hear you, and we will continue to try do right by our teammates. Ian
