Pros

Your coworkers and events make the company. Theres more on the floor training than you can actually learn in your intial training, they do offer training again throughout,so go for a refresher. The pto is a good amount, although its not accrued, you receive it at the beginning of your start time. Lots to learn if with the right team and manager.

Cons

Management arent all on the same page and consistent. Not alot of room for growth,if you dont do it yourself or you aren't a favored employee.

Growing Up and Liking It

Pros

Competitive pay and benefits I really like my team Opportunities to innovate and find/solve problems Senior Leadership listens (surveys, town halls) and shares objectives Fun activities (food days, volunteer things) Career Opportunities It feels really good to work for a company that stands up for its values, and holds everyone accountable.

Cons

As the company is going more 'corporate', there is a lot of change and more structure - this is needed, but kind of unsettling and causing some concerns. Some managers are 'green' and as they're learning to manage, its a little bumpy. Also, there is a lot of work to be done and not a lot of training - its learning as you go.

Great Place to Work

Pros

I enjoy working at OSV because most of the employees are knowledgeable and team players, and in my department we have flexibility to work from home two days per week. Over the past several years there has been a lot of change in Executives which I was apprehensive about, but I think it was an improvement! There is now a lot more transparency in what the company is doing and what is going well or badly. Monthly employee service anniversary celebrations mean treats and socializing for everyone, not just those with anniversaries, which is nice. Popcorn Wednesdays are a fun way to have a few minutes away from your desk, socialize with employees from other areas while getting a nice snack! The on-boarding process was easy and the 'Our Story of Values' training class was engaging. I feel the company is always trying to improve, of course this will come with varying degrees of success but I like to see the effort. Overall, I really enjoy working here and would recommend it to friends. The "new" (about 3 years old now) building is terrific, nice open space, lots of light, big covered parking garage.

Cons

Some managers do not care about the company performance, or the well being of their employees, and may issue unrealistic performance goals. In some departments it may be difficult to obtain raises or to utilize your time off. The building maintenance has gone downhill over the past couple of years and see little dings in the paint, break rooms often pretty dirty despite having a cleaning crew. Not sure that is super reflective of OSV, although perhaps there is someone who could improve the way Cypress Waters management treats the building. The open concept work space does make it difficult when several people in the same department have customer phone calls at the same time, but is nice for collaboration. Would be nice if we could get some noise cancellation technology to minimize the amount of noise generated when many people are talking at once. Although one of the values is "we are a team" I still feel that some departments are very silo-ed and communication effort really depends on who in each department you are speaking to.

Great Company!!!

Pros

There are lots of opportunity for growth with managers who are very invested in seeing you succeed and grow. There is a big emphasis on work/life balance, although at times there can be alot on your plate. Everyone here really seems to enjoy what they do and offer up help whenever it is needed.

Cons

If accepting a job that requires a Workday certification, you are required to pass if you want to keep your job. But they have you start two weeks before and give you all of the information to study before you go to class (other companies just send you off to training). They don't hand hold you but they do give you all of the information you need. If you have questions ask. They don't give you a second shot if you fail while most other companies do if your score is close enough.

Pros

I worked at OSV for about 3.5 years prior to giving my notice a few weeks ago. During my time at the company I was fortunate enough to work in 4 different positions, all within the payroll/tax field. - Very laid back enviornment - PTO (unlimited if salaried and 180 hours if hourly) - Dress code is really laid back - shorts during the summer - A lot of free lunches and food around - Experience within the Workday HRIS system - Above Average Salary (OSV pays well comparable to other companies) - As a company, OSV does stick to the values - A lot of company wide events on a monthly basis - The CEO is always around and a very hands on guy overall - Parking garage

Cons

- HEAVY FAVORITISM ALL AROUND - Qualified individuals are consistently overlooked for promotions - Lack of growth in the payroll/tax department - Supervisors who know nothing about tax but are in leadership roles - Environment has become very strict and less laid back at the time I quit - ALL managers show favoritism to employees who kiss a** - Workload can sometimes be hard to manage in 40 hours a week - After being stagnant for so long, the job can wear you down - Many employees in the tax department who are unhappy due to leadership

New and Loving It

Pros

I can't speak for the whole company, but my team is absolutely great. They have high expectations, but they're family friendly. One of my coworkers received a call about his kid falling at daycare and he was out of the office 5 minutes later. Great benefits. New, open concept office (managers have offices). Growing company at a healthy rate. They really seem like they want everyone to fit in and be happy. Everyone is very helpful through onboarding. This is a pro for me, but might be a con for others... many of the departments strongly prefer that you to work in the office daily. The leadership seems great. They have quarterly meetings where they talk about the company and what's been working/not working plus future goals. This is the first place I've worked where the all hands meeting seemed honest and productive. The negatives weren't huge or sugar coated and they had a plan to correct it going forward. Miraculous!

Cons

Waiting 90 days before you can take any vacation days as a new hire, but I think most companies have PTO delays for new hires. Some of the long timers miss the connection with their department heads, but I think that's probably a growing issue. As a comparison, I never spoke to my last CEO and the company was half the size! I talked to Trey for a few minutes and he seemed genuine in his curiosity about why I picked OSV. I need to find a gym. They have sweets out a couple times a week and I have limited self control.

I love working at OSV!

Pros

After having mediocre experiences at some of the big consulting firms for the first 10 years of my career with little career growth, I can truly say that I love working at OSV. I truly enjoy my coworkers and managers and consider them like family. OSV has invested in my career and helped me get several workday certifications through training and mentoring, in addition to being promoted after my first two years based on my high performance. There is plenty of work to go around so you can get very busy sometimes, but that is the nature of the business and a good problem to have. To OSV's credit, the bonus plans in Professional Services reward you well for your contributions and performance. I have never worked at such a great place before, and even though I continue to receive interest from competitors, I have never considered going anywhere else. I plan to stay and grow in my career here for a long time.

Cons

The employer match on the 401(k) plan is only 25%, and I would like to see this increased to 50% to match the industry standard.

Pros

I've been with OSV for five months and I am so grateful for the experience so far. OSV treats their employees like adults and knows how to ensure they have work/life balance. My manager is highly supportive and I always feel like I am not only appreciated, but valued for my work. There is so much potential at OSV to create your own path and to grow yourself in your career. I am proud to be on the L&D team and provide our employees with training, which is not always a caveat at every company. We're constantly developing and there is plenty of work to do, which shows we are a growing company with lots of potential. We're building the foundation with all we're doing and I'm excited to be a part of this incredible OSV family!

Cons

If you can't keep up with a fast-paced, growing company, this may not be the place for you. We are a corporate culture who strives to get things done efficiently.
