Empty Promises - No Diversity!!

Pros

The employees are the best thing about this company, they are a close knit team and support each other. The new building is very nice Flexibility for work at home opportunities

Cons

The management is not consistent across channels. Some managers have had no leadership training - it shows. There are different styles of leadership in each area, which makes it difficult to be cohesive. Instead, it breeds resentment between departments and locations (in the U.S.)

"Great company to work for"

Pros

Fun atmosphere, unbelievable time paid off, nice employees and great pay. Co-workers are willing to help out and demonstrate as a team player.

Cons

Proper training is not given to new hires or employees. Lynda.com is a great tool but it should not be a restriction to only access during work hours. A lot of employees are very busy during work hours and do not have time. If we were able to access the site during non-business hours, more employees would use it. Communication between departments and the different offices could be better. Benefits package for dependents is not the best if you have to add dependents.

Pros

They are always hiring and there is a lot of very nice, friendly, hardworking people there. The company works with an exciting product and is growing extremely fast.

Cons

They draw you in with talk of growth, values, a fun culture and all the awards the company has won. After being hire and going through the "boot camp" employees typically receive the minimum training needed to do their job, they are over worked, under paid and given no meaningful professional development. Raises are a joke (maybe 3% annually if you are an ideal employee, lucky and your boss really likes you) and they almost always hire from the outside rather than promote from within. Clear favoritism in treatment and compensation are show to close friends and family of executives. They have a great list of corporate values, but it is used when convenient and ignored when it is not. Lots of drama and conflict between managers, between departments and between employees and their manager. Also, don't be fooled by the high overall rating on this website. It is monitored by the company and anytime the rating gets below a certain level employees are selected and encouraged get on here and post a positive review....classy move from a company that lists integrity as a core value.

Pros

Great culture, great values. OSV was a small company that took a rapid growth, and as expected changes come. I think they are doing a good job trying to get things in order. Great team environment, people are always willing to help each other. Opportunity for growth when you apply yourself.

Cons

Training isn't so great for all departments, but the company is doing a good job finding the areas they struggle in and trying to come up with positive and reassuring solutions.

Thank you for your feedback! You are right about our great culture, values, and team environment. We pride ourselves in being a collaborative environment! We are working on enhancing our training program so be on the lookout for those changes. In the meantime, check out Lynda.com. We rolled out Lynda in March and it is a great tool for all things learning!

We are so pleased you have been with us for more than a year. We agree - the people here are great - which is highlighted by each annual Employee Engagement Survey. We recognized the need for more training to accommodate our rapid growth in 2016 and have hired a top notch Director of Training and added talented team members to her staff. In Q1 2017 we have launched enhanced job training, compliance training and manager training. We are excited about all of the training that will be delivered in 2017 to empower our employees to support our customers.

Pros

Some of the employees that have been here for a while still believe in the old OSV.

Cons

The sentiments expressed in the recent negative reviews on here are pretty much all true. Especially the issues with middle management being brought in from the outside. HR seems to think that a 3rd party training course on leadership skills will somehow impart sufficient Workday experience for middle management to be effective. Sr. Mgt decided to hire in from the outside and do not seem willing to admit that was a good idea at the time, but hasn't turned out so well for the culture. (hence the complaints about training)

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience here. We understand the painpoints for those who still believe in the 'old OSV'. The 'old OSV' had a culture of constant communication and collaboration which was very easy to maintain due to our size. We have grown to a much larger organization at almost 800 employees with more business offerings which has changed the dynamic of the company, as it would most places with fast growth. We are working on reviving that great culture that is familiar to everyone here. Your honest feedback and faith in us will guide us on our way! Thank you!
