Pros

I’ve been at OneTrust for quite some time. The only two reasons I’ve stayed for this many years is 1) the people I worked with & 2) the benefits. The healthcare, WFH, and flexibility to take care of personal things while working was great. The people I worked with shared a mutual distrust and hatred for OneTrust, but stayed because of the employee community we built.

Cons

Massive layoffs over the last two years. The first time they did layoffs, they cut 1/3 of the company. We were caught off guard and disappointed. We bounced back, they rehired, but continued to secretly lay people off behind the scenes. No big announcements or statement from the CEO. Every time you got on LinkedIn and searched OneTrust, you could see people posting they got laid off. Come July 2024, they laid off another massive group of people. The FAQ doc that the People Team sent out, mentioned that the team might have more workload but we should all be comfortable with picking up the extra work bc we’re “OneTeam.” They did NOT care if you contributed 2 years or 7 years to this god awful company. They laid off anyone they thought was making too much money, or the role wasn’t a necessity anymore. They laid off so many people, but are okay with having job postings up? Over the years, they handled a lot of situations very poorly. When CCPA enforcement was happening, Kabir (CEO) forced people to work over the holidays and said things like “this is a war! You’re either in it or against us!” I’m sorry, but what? When Covid happened, after the CDC advices folks to stop meeting in groups more than 10, Kabir was still requiring people to come to the office — holding team meetings as well. Not only that, HR was emailing us “You can work from home til (insert date) only. Don’t forget we do not tolerate work from home and we are not that type of company. You are required to come in when we say.” There is absolutely no review process for your managers. If they are terrible, you can cry about it because nothing will be done. People who work hard and deserve promotions/raises aren’t given them. OneTrust has a “committee” of managers that oversees who will get a promotion on a basic “yes” “no” vote. Got this information from someone on that committee! Work here if the benefits are all you care for. I would say this company is experiencing a fallout. They fired the CMO, and two other chief executives.

Thanks for sharing your perspective. It's disappointing to see you had a negative OneTrust experience. We recently realigned our organization around our core product strategy. Like many companies, we regularly assess our organizational needs to best serve our customers and position the company for long-term success. This realignment is aimed at significantly enhancing our speed, responsiveness, and flexibility. The restructuring was carefully considered, and we repositioned many employees into new business units and roles to minimize the impact on our workforce. Unfortunately, some employees were affected, and we have supported them through this transition. While this transition brings change, it also presents immense opportunities. Our commitment to supporting our customers remains unwavering, and we are confident that we will continue to foster greater innovation, success, and sustained growth.

Pros

Your peers. I made some really good friends during my time there. Vacation was good for a start up.

Cons

Management has insane expectations. The work load is absolutely crazy. Good luck having a life. There were massive layoffs after saying everyone’s job was safe. The CEO is arrogant.

Pros

Pay is great - they overpay their staff for a specific reasons You will meet some great people here Allot of client engagement

Cons

As I mentioned the pay is great only because you will never get a pay rise again and will have to fight tooth and nail to get more. During CCPA (December) we all have our hearts and souls to this company, we where told to leave work at 8-9PM everyday and work on the weekends and over Xmas and New Years of we have to. Huge lay off where made to staff that sacrificed so much only to be told they where underperforming. The CEO is young but has the work ethos of a Pre Recession Wall Street Stockbroker. He has zero care for his staff and hated WFH but was forced to implement it during Lockdown. You will be overworked and expect to perform at 150% everyday. Many people have burned out due to stress and being over worked.

We are happy to hear that you appreciate the quality of your coworkers and understand the opportunity and impact tied to the OneTrust family of products. CCPA was insane! Having rolled out GDPR in 2018 we knew we were in for a monumental challenge. We weren’t disappointed. We can’t say enough about the effort put forth by each and every member of our team, especially Professional Services. With the deadline looming in January we knew we would need an increased effort across the board, and we were not disappointed. Hard deadlines always provide an interesting challenge. That deadline is not moving no matter how many obstacles are thrown in along the way and this can lead to longer hours during critical times. The only way we were able to successfully address all of our clients’ needs was by asking for a big sacrifice from all of our teams. These regulations will continue to trend globally. But with each one successfully launched, we are learning. We are more dynamic than we were before CCPA and have had the chance to take a step back and assess our processes and infrastructure. Any good company learns from these opportunities and we will improve and streamline our efforts after CCPA — the same way we improved after GDPR. In order to reward, acknowledge and protect our employees we will continue to assess and rollout new benefit programs and engagement efforts. Additionally, we want to know what we can do to empower each employee. Help us do that by communicating your questions, concerns and ideas to your HR Business Partner. Thanks for your continued effort and, of course, for the valuable feedback.
