Pros

Pay is decent Location is ideal

Cons

Where to start.. was hired in January 2020 and they have made us Redundant during the Covid-19 crisis. We where stealth invited to conversations with HR and told we failed probation due to performance when every one of us where putting in 1000% . The CEO does not are for anyone, he told us last week we had 400million in the bank so we are safe and now they are cutting staff around the world. The entire team where wiped out completely and we where not offered furlough just 2 months pay when the job market is empty and the crisis can go on for up to 6 months. This company does not care for any of its staff members, they see you as a number. The CEO even said it was safer coming into the office than at home - what a joke. Stay far away from this company.

Pros

Fast paced environment where you can learn a years worth of knowledge in a few months. Compensation is better than market average. Colleagues are great to work and hang out with

Cons

Upper management cannot stick to one decision. They make rash decisions and end up restructuring the department 3 times in the past 5 months. Right after reassuring everyone that no layoff will occur as a result of COVID because of large funding, about half of my department has been laid off 2 weeks ago due to a lack of resources, but I am now seeing new grads making posts on LinkedIn accepting job offers for our department! There is a total disconnect between upper level management and lower management and employees. Layoffs were not performance based, and I am not sure what metrics were used. Some of my laid off coworkers were great consultants and helped us out a lot during the extremely challenging CCPA times. Overall employee morale is shot, and I feel that I am always looking over my shoulder for the next layoff.

Pros

10/10 product, certain features basically sell themselves. They have NAILED the privacy market, it's impressive, and why I decided to join the company. Really strong coworkers, OneTrust hires ambitious, young, and motivated employees. Everyone is helpful. For someone in the first 0-3 years of their post-grad career, OneTrust will offer you a ton of experience. You can get involved in all kinds of projects.

Cons

Considering the strength of the product and position in the market, benefits and culture are severely lacking. This is especially so relative to typical successful SaaS startups. Management is extremely fast to react to product and competitive needs, but extremely slow about anything related to employee well being. They can, but they choose not to. This is why I decided to leave the company. Details: -Management is heavily focused on sales staff using scripts for demos and calls. Coming from solution-based enterprise sales, this made the meat of my OneTrust role feel more like call center work. Rigid. -Zero remote flexibility and all corporate travel has to occur outside of 8-5 work hours. Get home at 2am after a delayed flight visiting a client? They'll expect you back at your desk the next morning. -Commission is paid out quarters after deal is signed (and expect to have to chase down invoices and payment from your clients if you want that $) -Lots of discussion about equity, no path to get there. Looks like they've finally added a 401k plan in mid 2019, but this was "coming soon" back in early 2018. Comp plan changed often. -Sales staff is scared of management. It's not a sweatshop, but there's an unhealthy relationship. Perhaps I've just been fortunate to work in other positive environments under strong, personable mentors, but leadership here seems way more comfortable with low-touch high-churn than trying to selectively build out a long term team. Bottom line? This place is good if you're early in your career or just love GDPR. Otherwise, look elsewhere when the recruiter comes calling.
