Hello, Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. I am that you found satisfactory the practical aspects of your working conditions as we do believe in the importance of comfort to deliver good quality work. I am not sure what drawbacks you find in OpenClassrooms’s strategy. I can only say that the development strategy of the company is carefully thought out, not only by the Executive team, but also with the support of the Board of Directors, our Advisory Committees, and above all, under the watchful eye of our Mission Committee that advises us on the great strategic axes we should consider to better succeed in our mission — make education accessible. The 2020 Impact report is accessible here in English: https://drive.google.com/file/d/15yEXMq6mkUTPj6RNeVD9uM0ANHWvZkGK/view?usp=sharing. Here are some data regarding our turnover that speak of themselves: in 2020, our attrition rate was 12.4%, which is rather below the market average — it is around 15%, and even 20% in Tech. 30% of the team has been working at OpenClassrooms for more than 2 years, which, given that the team has grown from 200 to 300 people over the last year, is not consistent with the high turnover rate you mention. Finally, regarding the number of VPs, there are currently 10 VPS and 8 C-Levels for over 300 employees. I don’t think this can be considered a lot, but I leave it to everyone to form their own opinion about it. Thank you for your work at OpenClassrooms, Pierre Dubuc Co-founder & CEO pierre.dubuc@openclassrooms.com

Hi, I highly appreciate that you took the time to tell us about your experience with OpenClassrooms. Thank you for this. I’m very happy to see that during your time at OpenClassrooms you liked and felt embraced by our mission, making education accessible, and that you’ve also appreciated your colleagues. Transparency is actually a key characteristic of our culture, and I’m very happy to see that you agree with that. We are convinced that having a free flow of information within the company is great for engagement, empowerment and performance. Also, thank you for highlighting the perks we offer to our employees. We’re always trying to improve, so if you have any suggestion feel free to submit your idea during one of our internal surveys. I hear that the many newcomers may have diluted the mutual knowledge of the teams, but it was more than necessary to keep up with the growth of OpenClassrooms, share the workload, and prepare for the future. The lockdown period is also a challenge for our human resources teams who are onboarding many new employees remotely. However, rest assured: we are working on many projects to perpetuate and accelerate the integration of recruits into teams and strengthen the common spirit that drives OpenClassrooms employees! This starts of course with our weekly all-hands meetings, with random coffees, with frequent (virtual) social events, etc. Regarding the B2B strategy and vision, I would generally disagree with this broad statement. We have a clear and articulated B2B strategy that has been explained to the whole team at several occasions and that is available on our internal knowledge base. I am not sure what you are precisely referring to. Please contact me so I can answer your questions and/or point you in the right direction. Thank you again so much, Pierre Dubuc, CEO of OpenClassrooms. pierre.dubuc@openclassrooms.com

Pros

At OpenClassrooms, the company cares about their employees and does its maximum to make sure they are confortable in their job.

Cons

Hyper-growth makes day to day life intense and workload always more than full. This can be pretty harsh sometimes.

Hi, We highly appreciate that you took the time to tell us about your experience with OpenClassrooms. Thanks a lot. Thank you very much for your comment: indeed, it is very important for us at OpenClassrooms to make sure everyone is under the best possible conditions to make his/her job the best way. I know everything is going very fast at OpenClassrooms, that’s because we want to make education accessible to the largest number of people around the world. That means reaching a maximum of individuals (objective: 1 million job placements in 2025), and therefore growing fast to complete that goal in a reasonable time. That can be sometimes difficult, and it’s probably not for everyone, but it also has a lot of advantages (intellectual stimulation, permanent and fast learning state of mind). Regarding the workload, we have an open-door policy: if your workload is too high, feel free to reach out to your manager, HR or myself directly to see where the problem comes from and think together to design the best solution to make sure the workload is acceptable. We also provide access to Qare, a visio solution to help you get in touch with doctors such as therapists if you have problems handling some situations at work, especially during this lockdown. Finally, we have implemented a series of actions to lower the stress and the workload: no-meeting days, meeting guidelines to reduce the number and length of meetings and increase their efficiency, massive investments on automation, reduction of the number of internal tools, many new recruitments, etc. Thank you again so much, Pierre Dubuc, CEO of OpenClassrooms.
